I had auto draft and ended up with Brees as my QB, which is good, but my WR/TE looks like this.

Reggie Wayne
Austin Collie
Dallas Clark

So, I have IND entire receiving corps basically.

A league member got hosed on QB but has Larry Fitz and Calvin Johnson as his WR and wants to trade for Brees. Is Brees for one of them fair for me or should I ask for an additional player?

My backup is Matthew Stafford who should be fine if he doesn't get hurt.

I think if you're going to bank on Stafford not getting hurt, you're going to need a solid backup for him if you're going to move Brees.

Now back to your question. Is a 1 for 1 deal fair? Yes it is. Now since he came to you asking for a deal, you should have some leverage... maybe you could pry away his back up quarterback(maybe, probably not).

Also wanted to say having all three of those guys for me on the same team isn't really a big deal. While it has it's disadvantages, it also has it's advantages. If Peyton is healthy, they're all going to put up numbers.

Thanks! That is true, I guess it is high risk/high reward. Colts always seem to be pass-first.

I hate to trade Brees and end up with Stafford getting hurt again like he has every year.

But who knows with Manning will be back.
