Deer hunting question-bow season

A buddy from out of town just moved here and asked me (and I don't bow hunt) if crossbow is legal for LA hunting? and also if expanding broad-heads are legal?
I know I could go looking for it on the hunting regs, but more fun to come here.
He works for a sporting goods store that will probably be opening in Slide II and is likely working on product/dept selection for the store.

just about the only thing that isn't legal for deer hunting is a spear...however, there is a move afoot to license atl-atls and spears next year.

Hell I'd give it a shot, no pun intended. Hunt in only a loin cloth with a spear, eat the liver right there in the field.

I know a guy in Louisiana who did hunt and kill a deer with a spear, ran an article about it in the Alex paper and got a visit from the LA DWF along with a ticket for taking deer with an illegal weapon. True story
of course, this guy just cant seem to stay out of trouble with the game wardens. Ted Nugent has nothing on him.

Im thinking about making my own spear for dispatching hogs I catch in the trap. I dont like unecessary shooting during deer season.

I heard a rumor there was a biologist from North Louisiana of Indian heritage that eat raw liver from any deer he harvested.
