LES, 9 days to gameday, this thing needs closure

BR police department will not have this closed in time.

Les pretty much knows who kicked the guy on the ground and broke his vertebrae. It sucks, and I hate everything about the situtation, but someone did it and the guy is pressing charges. Either we pay the guy off, or we kick someone off the team. "We're investigating the incident" is causing a massive distraction.

LES, END THIS THING!

Miles more than likely does know who kicked this guy that was laying on the ground. But why do you feel so certain that it was an LSU player?

The video I saw earlier had some evidence showing there could've been 2 people that kicked this guy.

And, let's say Miles suspends JJ tomorrow and a couple days go by (maybe not even that long) and it turns out that JJ wasn't involved with kicking this dude..... How do you think JJ would take that? Or the other members of the team? Or future recruits?

He can't and won't jump the gun.

let him deal with it in house.

the fans dont need closure. the team does, and i doubt Miles is letting it get in the way of practice

I know man, but my point is: the distraction is worse than losing any player. TV crews are at his house for pete's sake.

We can always reinstate whoever was wrongly accused of the kicking. Someone, or all 4, must be booted. Football teams fight together. It was the last day of camp, our guys got into a fight with this guy. The odds of a non-player jumping in to lay a kick on the guy that just got beat-down is 0%. I’m all for denial, but there is no time left. 9 days until we play the #3 team in the country in Dallas.

innocent until proven quilty.

This is why you can't jump the gun. If he is quilty then he should be dealt with accordingly, but Les must wait until the BRPD investigation reveals its findings.

and when the news reports say BRPD has arrested ------- then Les will acted and that person or persons will be suspended or disqualified.

Lets trust Miles and let him handle it.

My hope and blind assumption is Les knows the score and is enacting a plan that does not a this point involve public consumption.

If he's honestly waiting on the cops, we're fricked.

As an original member of Team Sweep, IMH (and useless) opinion, no way JJ can play in this game.

I doubt it went down that way but the odds that they would know a non-football player who will throw down with them is much higher than 0%.

We still don't have any pristine evidence.
It's all hearsay and the MSM inflaming the fires.
I'm not JJ fan but this is character
Assassination with no real proof.

This investigation is turning into such a farce. I really dont care what happens...play him, don't play him, suspend him, whatever. I don't really wanna kick him off the team, not really sure why. A fight is one thing, but kicking a dude when he's clearly done is scary over the top...unless you're a goodfella. Honestly, I don't care. Tom Osborne, Dennis Ericson, Urban Meyer, Bowden, Jimmy Johnson, Switzer all won national titles playing some police blotter players, some were genuine scum...all people remember are their titles, any questionable players they used to win are maybe a footnote.

Let's assume the police have a strong idea of who they want to charge with what, but don't have quite the evidence to get an arrest warrant. By suspending less than all of the four, Les would be unwittingly informing the police's suspicion on the worst offenders.

The longer this thing drags into next week the more it will become an issue. I hope the guys can somehow find a way to rally around this and use it as motivation through the season. I always laughed at other schools when shite like this happened. Sucks when it finally comes around to you.

I personally don't think it'll go past Sunday. At least the decision Miles has to make.

After seeing the video, which was basically two black guys kicking/beating the shite out of guy on the ground...

I think all 4 of the accused need to be kicked off the team. End of story.

That's not the kind of behavior I want representing my Alma Mater. The long term implications of this are far more important than the results of 1 season.

I am disappointed as hell that our so-called 'senior leader' would be anywhere near a situation like this. And beginning to think the inmates might be running the asylum if Miles doesn't act quickly and decisively. In that way I do agree with you.

Thuggery is thuggery and I don't think there's any place for it at LSU. This is the kind of shite that went on during Hallman's tenure.

Anyone remember Odell Beckham Sr? And the poor little skinny East Laville RA that got his faced crushed in for bumping Beckham's truck in the parking lot of Sports?

I do. Team Sweep was there for that one too evidently although I don't remember exactly what happened to him, but his classmates profile shows him attending LSU from 1990 to 1995.

shite needs to be quashed with extreme prejudice and a message sent to the remaining players that kicking a guy on the ground is NOT ACCEPTABLE behavior by representatives of LSU.

Kicking arse in a straight up fight is one thing, but ganging up and kicking a whipped opponent is entirely something else.

Maybe the team has more "closure" than John Q. Public. The "closure" I am getting is not thinking, reading or talking about this as much as I did initially.
