Miles' only resonable choice

I think its safe to assume that the possibility at least exist that the four players "involved" in the bar fight will face some type of disciplinary action by the University/Athletic Dept. I think the possibility also exist that if they play and said disciplinary action does occur and/or an NCAA investigation is involved after the police investigation is concluded, a win over Oregon would not be worth much. While I am totally in the camp that one is innocent until proven guilty, my suggestion for action from Les Miles/Athletic dept seems like the lesser of the possible evils.
I suggest that Miles address the media/fans/alumni stating that while all the facts are not in, given the possible ramifications of allowing the 4 players to take part in any games before they are "cleared" is not a risk the University can take. I realize that a lot of folks would have a problem with this because it appears to be unfair to the players involved, but they have some responsibility in this by putting themselves in this situation in the first place by their actions. The University has to look at the bigger picture and by how allowing players to participate could bring long term harm is not worth the risk. Again, maybe this will be a life lesson for those involved that your actions in this life carry consiquinces and if that is learned, it will be more meaningful to them in the long run than missing a game or two.
We (LSU fans/team) are in the envious position of having capable backups at all the positions of the players involved and it might be best in the long run if Miles makes this decision now so the players can focus on football and a huge game looming ahead in about a week.
If the players are cleared, they would perhaps have been severely punished for only using poor judgement, but I'm sure they could be made to understand they put the program in an impossible situation and could move on the to play the rest of the season. Either way, the University will have gained respect for making the best of a bad situation, one that it was forced to deal with.

Yeah, but how much are you selling your tickets for?
