You passed on Julio for Little, but he's the idiot?
Posted on 8/17/11 at 7:58 pm to Tees Bose N Rees
Well...what on earth makes you think Little > AJ and ulio?
Posted on 8/17/11 at 8:16 pm to Tees Bose N Rees
My dynasty ppr I have little as the 5th wideout... Green, Julio, Cobb, Baldwin, Little... I could see Little over Baldwin.
Posted on 8/17/11 at 9:12 pm to Wilfred
Hes the village idiot because of the trades he makes (6th for blount – that was to me… 6th and 7th for eli manning… a 1st 2nd eddie royal to me for Jeremy maclin only a week later to send Jeremy maclin another 1st and another 2nd for montario hardesty – this was in one league it gets better… the other league I traded him Jeremy maclin and deangelo hall for his 1.8 and anquan boldin. Now I took greg little at 1.8 so it comes to my pick at 2.11 and I had been trying to get maclin back from him cause JMac is my boy. Well at 2.11 he saw ryan mallet on the board and immediately traded me maclin for the 2.11. hahaha let review = i got the 1.8 for maclin and then during the draft he traded maclin for my 2.11 to take mallet)
what makes me an idiot for taking Little over Julio? i probably did a little, pun intended, research on it boys
here is the answer: in 2009 i played summer ball in North Carolina. majority of my teammates were from the state of NC. during the two months i was there a lot of football was talked about from App State to ECU. Well North Carolina was interesting to me because my buddies were all saying they are a G squad. Go look at the names on those butch davis tar heel teams. so i watched them and i saw greg little two years ago. explosive, big, strong, etc... he's a former RB in the butch davis west coast offense.
so the obvious choices for rookie WRs:
AJ Green Cincy with a rookie qb, will usually be coming from behind, playing AFC north tough defenses. Jay Gruden the OC has said it will be a run run offense but does that mean AJ will not get his? no. AJ will get his. AJ is automatically the WR1 for the bungals who traditionally can't draft worth a damn. the oakland raiders of the east. who is to say andy dalton is or is not the answer. AJ depends on him.... if andy is not the answer aj will suffer
Julio Jones ATL with Matt Ryan, will usually be a head in the 4th quarter = run with Turner and future wise whoever they draft in the 2nd round in the 2012 draft to drain the clock, playing NFC South defenses which are respectable. Julio steps in a situation with a 26 year old QB and Rhoddy White the REAL WR1 on that team who is just 29 years old. Rhoddys contract states that he will be a free agent in 2015 (check your watch its 2011). Julio is a WR2 in the offense. While it may look appealing do the research not so much. How many offenses can you think of that the WR2 statistically (targets, receptions, yards, tis) out plays the WR1? only 1 = Jeremy Maclin (weird he's on my teams) over Desean OVER RATED Jackson...
then my boy:
Greg Little Cleveland with 2nd year qb Mr Accurate Colt McCoy (who by the way is my QB2), will be a .500 team, playing AFC north tough defenses. Pat Shurmur who developed Sam Bradford in STL is the new HC in cleveland (don't forget mike holmgren) runs the west coast offense (sound familiar? chapel hills same offense) Greg steps in as the automatic #1 wr barring injury or other bad things... he is big physical and will hurt someone
one league he is my WR4 behind Dez, Maclin, and Manningham
the other league he is my WR3/4 behind Maclin, Santonio, and Boldin
i do not look for the guys that are flashy. i look for the guys that are efficient and have the BEST opportunity to succeed.

so you are saying Little finishes with better #'s than Jones?
Posted on 8/17/11 at 9:47 pm to Lester Earl
this season? tough call. it will be close. i will go Little because i drafted him over Julio and i trust my research
realistically? very close. it will be like watching these guys
i will sit back and watch the season: y'all will know where i will be.... right here

I don't think there's much difference talent wise in Jones, A.J. and Little, so I have no issue with it if you have a strong feeling about Little.
Posted on 8/17/11 at 10:54 pm to Tees Bose N Rees
little first of all was never even that good of a college Wr. missing last season didnt help
2nd of all CLE will be a short dink/dunk WC coast tell. Jones will get vertical on defenses. I dont think they are close at all, this year or in the future

Not out of the question. JJ plays with 2 guys that are quick to be vocal when they don't get enough looks. Little doesn't have much competition.

is Tony Gonzalez one of those guys?
White, JOnes, an old Tony G....Harry douglas? ehhh
ATL hasnt had a legit #2 WR in like 15 years. Jones will get a lot of play off Roddy White, and vice versa.
Greg Little is a hell of an athlete, but lets face it, he has 1 full season at WR under his belt and the last time he played in a football game was Dec 2009.
Cle offense will spread it around. Massaquoi, Robiskie, Cribbs will get his touches, and McCoy loves Ben Watson. Even if they arent as top heavy as ATL, by default Little will have less opportunities to catch balls than Jones does, unless he really emerges.

because he was a RB when he committed to UNC. He is still learning...

exactly my point. in PPR Greg is huge with dinks and dunks. how often does a QB hook up with a WR for 30+ yards in a game? two different systems for sure its not hard to agree with that.

your right. julio is the more pure WR. but like i said greg is still learning

technically this past saturday. 2 catches for 20 yards hahaha. just had to

agreed 100%. if he IS that WR1 in that offense = good news for him

how do you feel about cleveland's tight end benjamin watson? he had 700+ yards receiving last yr and colt is looking better all the time.

I actually think Little will be really good. I agree he might be the best of the bunch.

Okay what the frick? why is Alex Green going ahead of Julio, AJ, Little. That is terri bad. Vereen, Helu are big time reaches above them too.
Seriously every rookie draft ive been in went something like
ingram
green
julio
d. thomas
williams
leshoure
little
baldwin
vereen
helu
carter
hankerson
alex green is generally a 3rd rd pick.

How the hell do you have Cobb that high? There are too many other WRs in Green Bay for Cobb to be relevant in the next 2 years

I love Little with us. I dont think he will put up big numbers however. Colt loves to spread it around and the WC calls for it. In last weeks game McCoy completed 9 passes to 7 different players. His reads and check downs are amazing for a 2nd year guy.
Little's a badass though. My son spent some time with him at the rookie premier this spring. A lot of attitude and wont be intimitated.
