If you don't think texas am joining the sec will help them in recruiting you are crazy.
Think of the sec as a hot chick. Everybody wants to get in dem guts. Now think of what part of that chick LSU would be. LSU has no sec neighbor to the west. south texas is the open ended hairy gut that everybody wants to stick their dick in. as an LSU fan I want to keep fricking that gut. I don't want any other dicks near my pussy. Get it.

Texas A&M gives us what we do not currently have...a bitter rival! Say what you want, the pigs are not that. Bama and AU to some degree, but they have each other. Ole Miss...? The Gators still hate TN more than us. Point made.
Besides, the recruiting advantage A&M secures will put a big hole in TU's wallet. We will still get our 3-4 kids out of the Houston area every year, and still lockdown the state of LA.

Well said. Of course, to be "bitter" they have to actually beat us every now and then. I remember those games in the 80's against A&M...much more intense than any Ole Miss game I ever attended. Of course, I may have been distracted by the ladies.

Tejas is a whole other country like the other poster said and it doesnt feel southern, a much different culture. The sec doesnt need the money guys and we dont need to be watered down. Sorry I just dont feel it for atm, anyway I live far to close to Tejas to want to go to football games with them

The part I can't get past is that I assume that adding A&M would cancel our series with Florida. This is a lose-lose, we don't gain any extra advantage w/ a victory of an A&M as opposed to a victory over a Flordia and a loss looks a lot worse.

Look at the 90's when LSU was bad and A&M was good. While A&M poached a couple of players here and there, they weren't the ones stealing the top La players the way, FSU, Miami and others did. also LSU still got guys out of Texas. Curley signed Faneca from Rosenberg.
As long as LSU wins and our coaches recruit well, we are fine no matter who is in the SEC.

Thats the biggest reason IMO but why help TAM out. Them joining the SEC will help them out and we do compete head to head with talent from the Houston area. Not having a SEC team to our west is a big advantage for LSU. The SEC is semi pro ball and big time recruits want to play in it.
Outside of the cotton bowl when was the last time TAM was on national TV???? I never see them.

I'm not a big fan of ATM to SEC, but could care less, as long as FSU winds up in the East as a counter-balance to UF, and in gaining literally all of the last bit of the Sunshine state's tv viewership.
U of Miami would then draw only the Cubans and Seaboard Geriatric Retirees way down way south..if even them?
