Dude,

Most heavy tailgating has been seriously curtailed by their silly curfews that won't open the lots until five hours before game time. I'm not packing tents, stove, cookers, etc for what amounts to a three or four hour tailgate.

4-5 hours ahead of game is when most lots open at Autzen. What time do they let you in at Death Valley?

That would be nice. Most of the tailgating at Autzen happens in the parking lot surrounding the stadium.

Do you guys tailgate right at the stadium, or lots off site?

Both, homey. Every time I've ever tailgated we've started prior to 10 am. (10 a.m. being extremely late).

This is why all other conferences can't stand when SEC fans say we are the best at everything from tailgating to partying to football.

It's because it's TRUE.

Leave the grill at home. You'll be able to use the concrete.

Because we're on the west coast we start a lot of games at noon to get telvised in the east before you go to bed which means we are in the lot cracking beers at 7 a.m.

My group usually arrive around 5:30am for a night game and were still not even close to being the first.
You arrive near LSU campus and you start seeing tents setup over a mile away from the stadium. By 11am, there isn't 10 feet to spare between tailgates anywhere north of the tracks.

So you get 4-5 hours of drinking in? Y'all are so cute with your little "tailgating".

Well we get 4-5 hours dedicated for tailgating. But that doesn't mean we don't shut the bars down the night before and drink our way to the game.

There are some exceptions to the rules, for example when Game Day comes they open the lots at 5 a.m. so people can be there for the filming of GameDay and they let you tailgate all day. Halloween a few years ago with USC in town was nice. Went from 5 a.m. until 6 or 7 p.m. at kickoff.

Look, sport. I understand you've got some "Duck Pride" or whatever, but you clearly don't understand how serious tailgating is in the SEC. LSU perfected tailgating.

There's a reason tailgating and night games in BRC are legendary... and the game experience in Eugene is not.

There are private business lots literally across the street where they will let you pay to park and don't mind if you tailgate. Check around.

Look Junior, I'm not saying one is better than other. I'm providing information and seeking it. Don't let your little man syndrome or inferiority complex get in the way of a conversation.

Unfortunately Oregon has to play by the laws they are dealt by the state of Oregon. If Eugene was the capital it would probably be a lot different. Ask around though and you'll find plenty of reputable sources talking about the game experience, including game day festivities, being "legendary". Many compare Autzen to the SEC because of how similar they are. Don't make assumptions/arguments about things outside of death valley when you haven't been outside of it.

Aparently not, because according to the logic on this thread you don't know anything if you live outside of Death Valley.
