What are your thoughts of playing LSU the first game of the year? Confident? Chance to prove something vs. an SEC team? How does your fan base perceive LSU?

I am not a big fan of having such a huge game to start the season even though it is exciting. I would rather have a tune up game before a great opponent. I respect Oregon and even though yall are a PAC 10 team have always liked them but it seems Oregon has more to prove than LSU...which scares me.

I'd much rather have a tune-up game before playing a big game.

Think I can speak for most all Duck fans in saying I was extremely excited when this game was announced.

Confident?

Confident it will be tight; see it as a coin toss. Don't especially like Oregon's somewhat green O-Line starting off against your athletic front, and I would pick a comfortable LSU win were y'alls offense a bit more formidable.

A big-name team with a ton of talent.

Understandable, but I guess you take exciting match-ups like these where you can get them.

The Ducks didn't exactly embarrass themselves agaist Auburn last year.

I, for one, don't mind this being our first game. They are usually sloppy.

First game of season is always interesting. Everyone has a zero loss season and high expectations... and some players that have never played a down in college. All we can do is support our teams and hope for things we have no control over.

In a return question: What does the nasty hot weather do to your fall workouts? Looking at Eugene weather, they are in the low 70's and weather is not a factor.

Looking forward to a good game, but really don't know what to expect, points wise.

I think its smart timing for both bigtime programs. A loss will likely only drop the loser to 10th or so with an entire year to recover and climb back up the polls. You play this game in week 8 or something like that and the loser is fricked for the year.

I think this has been lost by a lot of LSU fans. The NC game was close throughout. Auburn wasn't the only team with blown scoring opportunities.

If I could make the schedule I would go for a "tune-up" first...that said, I love a big game any time of year! No feel for the points, but I think it will be close.....if we keep it close I like our chances a little more as we can move the ball downfield quickly. A win would definately get the SEC "monkey" off our back. I respect the deep tradition at LSU......but I like the ever changing Ducks!!! Been a Duck fan for 42 years and love the games.....see you in Texas!

Honestly I think it helps us a lot against a team like Oregon who's hoping to wear us out with the pace. With it being in AC it will be just that much easier.

I think it's possible, though, that what you gain in heat acclimatization practicing in that weather, you can lose in the efficiency, speed, and general utility of each practice.

it sure seems that way over the last 7-8 years with only winning 2 national titles and 10 games or more like 6 times in 10 seasons...

I can't wait... 7 years on this board and now it is just about here. Not sure what to expect in regards to the score though.

I actually went to the LSU/ASU game that was moved here to AZ so I guess I am 1-0 at LSU games...

Hey I ain't saying we're gonna be perfection in motion on the first game of the year. I just think our dudes are not going to be wearing out like you're hoping they will.
