HAND PASSES PERMITTED

North Americans who played baseball will have an advantage here. Just don’t close your hand on the puck.

quote:

TRAPEZOID OUT, CENTRE RED LINE IN

Two “roll-back” experiments. Goalies can once again roam to their heart’s content to play the puck, but be warned, they will be penalized for freezing a puck without at least one skate in the crease. They will likely be considered fair game for forecheckers if they get too adventurous when stick-handling.

With the red line active again, two-line passes will be restricted in the hope more players get touches in the neutral zone.

I don't mind some of these but please don't bring 2 line pass back.

GODDAMNIT. The two line pass was an abomination. I can't believe they are brigning that awful rule back. It was, is, and always will be the worst rule in the history of sports. It essentially prevents "fast breaks". Yeah, let's desprive hockey of speed and clutter up the neutral zone.

Yeah I don't get why that's even a discussion.

This isn't set, these are only being experiemented at that research camp thing they do each year.

The only rules I would like that that are mentioned in the article are getting rid of the trapezoid and allowing hand passes. The worst by far would be bringing back the red line.

Yeah, does anyone miss the red line?

I do like changing the trapezoid rule. Hand passes? I'm indifferent.

I don't think hand passes occuring are a big deal, and I think calling them disrupts the flow of the game.

And actually I think I found one worse than bringing the red line back: only on-the-fly changes.
