I read something somewhere that those and the ones of their ilk are designed after motorcycle helmets, hence the rounded nature of the cage and wider-set helmet. More of a rounded overall design than just a form-fitting helmet with a flat facemask. Also a lot safer.
I think I'd prefer safer players and have ugly facemasks.

Their knee pads are terrible too. Make their legs look all weird. And can't that get multicolored mouth guards. I'm sick of plain old yellow.

I'd like to see how it would look if we had white facemasks. I think it would look badass IMO.

You are alittle more passionate about it, but you sound like my wife. She pics winners by who has the best looking uniform. The only time she was wrong was the Saints-Seahawks game during last years playoffs.
It really shouldnt mean so much. Dropped passes are ugly not facemasks.

They realy dont bother me that much. I just noticed that they have been showing up more and more with the players and wanted to know if others felt the same way as me
