The Astros appear to be moving closer to trading All-Star right-fielder Hunter Pence, MLB.com has learned. As of Thursday afternoon, at least six teams are involved in negotiations to acquire Pence, according to a person close to the situation. No deal is imminent, and Astros general manager Ed Wade declined to comment when reached by MLB.com.

I swear if we don't trade him now, but trade him in the off-season, I'm going to go fricking crazy.

if it's not a better deal than the one we reportedly turned down from philly I'm gonna go Chacon on Ed Wade.

I agree! I didn't want him traded at first, but I am very interested to see what we can get for him. Anything that will make us better within the next 2-3 years I'm down for.

Please let him go to the Red Sox. Keep the Phillies and Braves scrambling for OF bats.

You'll still have one hand. I read that thread...can't believe how positive I was pre-season. The Astros quickly turned me into a bitter cynic.

I read some MLB insider say we are looking for "four sure thing prospects." Cozart and Singleton is one hell of an offer, still cant believe we turned it down. I guess we are holding out for a guy like Biddle as well ? Biddle (Top lefty pitching prospect for Philadelphia) Cozart and Singleton. That would be an unbelievable deal.

I said 70. Apparently I forgot about that one but I guess it'll be the same outcome since I said I'd self ban if they have the worst record in baseball.

And the flip side is if you do trade Pence to the Phils then, and this is just my personal opinion, the chances of dealing Bourn to Atlanta for Minor go up tremendously especially if the Braves can't aquire Upton.

Then you can basically sell away Wandy having an immediate replacement for him in the rotation. Just thinking out loud. I'm sure 31 will be in here soon enough to tell me how much of an idiot I am.

I'm not huge on Brown. His minor league numbers aren't eye popping and now that hes at the ML level, hes not playing on potential anymore and his numbers up to this point have been fairly pedestrian. Still, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if he was in a deal with other high ceiling prospects. He's got more upside to him than probably anyone in our minors

Looks like ATLs plan B is Carlos Quentin.

Same here. I really don't think he's that good of a baseball player, just a good athlete who plays baseball. Personal preference I'd rather Singleton just because I think his upside could be higher than Brown. I don't Brown is that good at all and would rather take the chance on Singleton blossoming into a .300 30 HR guy.
