Made my GF watch this last night. I was shocked that a child of the 80's had never seen this. Still a favorite after all these years.

Watched it earlier this week, actually. Definitely a timeless classic.

That's pretty surprising someone that old hasn't seen it. Just about every daycare I ever went to showed The Goonies at least once.

In third grade, I cheated on my history exam. In fourth grade, I stole my uncle Max's toupee and I glued it on my face when I was Moses in my Hebrew School play. In fifth grade, I knocked my sister Edie down the stairs and I blamed it on the dog... When my mom sent me to the summer camp for fat kids and then they served lunch I got nuts and I pigged out and they kicked me out... But the worst thing I ever done - I mixed a pot of fake puke at home and then I went to this movie theater, hid the puke in my jacket, climbed up to the balcony and then, t-t-then, I made a noise like this: hua-hua-hua-huaaaaaaa - and then I dumped it over the side, all over the people in the audience. And then, this was horrible, all the people started getting sick and throwing up all over each other. I never felt so bad in my entire life.

A movie that succeeds because it takes the narrative skeleton from Dante's Divine Comedy.

Goonies is awesome for what it is but even as a kid back in the 80's I sort of wanted Sean Astin to choke on his inhaler toward the end.

I've only seen it once in the theaters when it first came out. Never had the desire to rewatch it since.

To this day, if I say something and someone says "what?" I respond with "That's what I said, Booty Traps!"

My kids make me put this on Netflix every few months. I guess I should just buy the DVD.

I saw it twice at the movies and own the DVD. I even hiked up to the house in Oregon last year.

IMO, the weakest moment is the wishing well being a portal to the secret lair beneath.

Not so much make, as lead her down the path. She has seen just about every other great movie, I couldn't figure it out. But It has made it into the top 10 ranks for her I think.

The guy with the mustang was a psychopath, he would have flung the dude on the bike off a cliff if he hadn't bailed.
