my 40th bday (he's a chef).
Any of y'all have one? What should I make first? What's a good thing to help me get the hang of this bad boy. It looks like a flippin' outboard.

I use it for lots of stuff. I use the bread hook for making bread. Making a simple french bread might be a good way to break the bad boy in. Did you get the pasta attachment? Pasta is a lot of fun.
I primarily use it for making stuff like cookies and cakes.

Fixed head, or flippable head? Been using one for forty years or so at homes, and bigger ones in the kitchens. Go get yourself some toys at bed and breakfast for the PTO drive on the front end. Food mill is the number one thing to get, fresh burger comes from ground(bought on sale) chuch roast. Look at some bread recipes, that is the thing the beast is great at, mix slowly.

I like their pizza crust recipe that in the little book you get.. I usually add other herbs to it though

I don't have any of the attachments (yet) and it would appear to be a fixed head. Thanks to all for the responses.

If it is a fixed head the bowl has a lift lever on the back end(leg) of the machine. If that is the case then hollandaise sauce in volume can be made in the bowl using a can of sterno in a cake pan as the heat source for the yolks beneath the bowl. The food mill will be a treat, but get the sausage tube too, homemade andouille is a bit of casing, imagination, and a smoker away.

Holy Green Eyed Monster....
Congrats. I want, but not sure I can afford what I "want" at this moment. You're very fortunate. Please don't waste it, but if you ever get tired of it and want to make a deal, let me know.
