In fact it stopped even trying. I was playing NHL 2011, announcers stopped talking, I found this weird, so I paused the game. All was fine, then after a few more minutes of no announcing, I paused again and it essentially froze on me. I've tried to put 2 different games in and it wont start to read them. I power cycled a few times, did the system restore and it doesnt want to read them. I had an original system that was a 60gb model that would be four years old in about 2 weeks. Figured it wanted to go to a better place.

Guess there wont be any NCAA 12 for me this year.

Anyone know of any solutions or should I just get a slim? If I do that, Im going to wait til Fall when Fifa comes out.

Thanks.

Mine did this when Burnout came out a few years back. Luckily i was in the warranty period. It ended up being that the blu-ray drive failed. Not sure if yours is the same, but I had to send mine in to get it fixed. Slim's are pretty nice though since warranty is over and I assume you didn't purchase the protection plan.

Good luck!

you still have to pay to send in and get sony to refurb. better off just buying a slim.

Mine did the same a few months ago. Box it up and give it to Game Stop and they will actually give you credit towards purchase of a new one, even if the old one is broken.

I really would love to see how that makes business sense for them. But hell thats a good deal!
