Where is a good place to stay for a reasonable price? I found a comfort inn right outside the city for under 100 but it is in the middle of NOWHERE. This is my first time to T-town and would appreciate any suggestions. TIA

Your best option might be to stay in Birmingham.

Yeah I would like to be closer but it's looking like Meridian or Birmingham will be my best bet.

Basically all the hotels around campus are booked. I'm hoping to make the trip with a friend who knows people that go to school there. If not, I'm probably staying 30 min away in Birmingham as well...

If you can get the Hampton inn right by campus that would be where I would stay

I stayed in Meridian in '09. It seemed like a hella long drive after the game (almost 100 miles as I recall) but if you're from Louisiana at least it's in the right direction.

This is what i was thinking. Chances are it will be a day game and it wont matter because we may end up driving back anyways(unless Jack thinks otherwise), but if it does turn out to be a night game it will make the drive that much shorter the next day.

i stayed there in '05. More choices now than then, and the drive is about 80 miles. Worst part about leaving was over an hour to get to I-20, with spit all over my car.

I'll take the win though :fearthehat:

Best advice = DO NOT STAY ANYWHERE in Tuskaloser

It's nothing more than a shidhole anyway!

Same goes for Auburn

I'd stay and have stayed in either Montgomery or Dothan at some cool places ... especially golf related for the weekend and had a blast. Those loose Bama women give great skull, especially when they know their getting steak fed for dinner

If you found a decent motel within 17 miles of T-town grab it. There's nothing left in town under $275 per night. We're in Bessemer and there's plenty of rooms left but that's suburban B'ham.

Guys,

We're there every other year with LSU and T-town books for the following year within a week after the LSU game is played. Last time there, I paid $250 per night for the Ramada and it was a dump. The entire town is a ripoff during game day weekends.

Tuscaloosa isn't a shithole - stop being a homer. In fact it's gotten really nice recently with a lot of renovations all across the town.

Well - minus that massive tornado and all but who can help that?

If you think Tuscaloosa is a shite hole - what do you consider Baton Rouge?

Not sure what city your comfort inn is but I'd keep it. Tuscaloosa hotels have an unofficial boycott of opposing fans that include canceling reservations last minute and allowing Bama fans first shot once they do make them available.

Birmingham or Meridian are the best options to stay. Tuscaloosa sucks anyway so I never stay there. Drive 45 minutes to Bham if you wanna do anything more than just sleep. Or just keep your current hotel.

Columbus, MS is probably your best bet. Not 5 star hotels around, but plenty of places to lay your head in a clean room. Probably a little over an hour drive to T-town.

Hey, homer, sorry to get your panties in a knot over my Tuscaloosa shidhole comment ... but the truth is just that ... Baton Rouge has a nice scene along the river and some casinos and cool stuff to do ... and Lafayette one way to the best food on earth and New Orleans is just down the road ... We'll be there this January 9th after JJ ... you remember him ... gives you something to cry about in November

No matter how you slice it, Tuskaloser is about a fraction above the lowest SEC shidhole existing and that is Starkvegas ... You're a starkvegas with a stadium, and an overpriced dwarf for a FB coach

has clearly never been to Tuscaloosa. I never hear anything but good things from the cool LSU fans that actually make the trip.
