Heading down there tomorrow afternoon. Called Tradewinds but they only have croakers. Besides Coco Marina, where else can we try?

There are several bait shops on the way down that sell them.

Check out Bait House Seafood. They are across the street from the Chauvin VFW.

there is a shrimp boat just north of raccoon point that anchors and sells live bait.

This is exactly what I was about to suggest. Bring cash though, no credit card machines out on that boat.

I swear they have a phone, to tell you where they are at, since they are sometimes trawling for more bait.
To the OP, get some larsh from Lapeyrouse. Trout like them better, regardless of what Macaluso says.

Hmmm, now having even more doubt about this trip.

Yeah i think Ricky put his cell phone number on a sign hanging from his boat. He sets up in Caillou Boca every morning. Looks like a damn fast food drive through with all the boats lined up on each side

Ricky has a phone. I posted it a month ago, but I don't feel like searching and for some reason it is not on my phone. He always answers or returns your call if you're looking for his location. He should be around Calliou Boca right about now.

Bait Hiuse folks rock. Only downside is if you're heading up there early in the morning from Cocodrie, the freaking bridge is liable to catch you. Got me in both directions both mornings 2 weekends ago. Tradewinds seems to have spent all their time and money on paint and neon signs, and less on their bait hookups since Gordon passed. As for Ricky, he was out at the end of the Houma Navigational Canal 2 weeks ago, but it looked like the Tiger Stadium student entrance for the Alabama game when we passed him. And guides seem to be allowed to cut the line. Good luck!

Yes, this is Ricky's phone number. He's also available during the night and wee morning hours on VHF channel 69. Call for the "Tracie and Macie".
However, he may be at Cailou Boca now instead of rock island. He moves off of rock island in the second half of the summer after shrimp season closes on the inside.
PS: It's jam packed from 6:00 to 6:15 so get there early or late. If not, you will see a scene resembling this!
