I read this simply because I had no clue what the title was trying to say only to see it quoting TD posts.

This whole softball coach hiring situation has been strange. Makes you wonder what really went on.

quote:

"You know, I think that Girouard and I are very similar in a lot of our coaching styles and philosophies," Hall said. "And I think as a program at LSU, that was something that they were looking to kind of change up the environment a little bit. So I think some of those things kind of played a role in the direction that they chose to go."

This quote hits the nail right on the head, in my opinion.

Was that an article about the Houston Head Coach? The new LSU Coach? Or Tiger Droppings reactions to the coaching hire?

That was one of the worst pieces of journalism I've ever seen.

Time will tell if Joe made the right hire. I like the fact that Torina doesn't have any ties to ULL. There is a culture within their athletic dept. that obsesses with LSU. Yvette admitted that she was caught up in that as well, and she grew up watching LSU football. Don't get me wrong, Yvette bleeds purple and gold now, but she turned down the LSU job the first time. The way ULL treated her after she left for Baton Rouge is in an indication of their hatred for the Tigers. They would not have done that to her had she left for any other school.

As for offering Alyson Habetz the job, she declined to interview for the job saying that she wasn’t ready to be a head coach. After being an assistant at Bama for 13 years, she’s not ready? Torina became head coach at FIU when she was 28. If nothing else, she appears to be much more ambitious than Habetz.
