Everyone knows he has the potential, it's just consistency. He just needs to play like he did for the first half of UNC, Ole Miss, Bama, and Texas aTm games all year.

I think Jordan Jefferson, looking from the outside, is probably a very upstanding young man that will likely have a successful career one day outside of football. His name recognition alone will land him a solid job in the Baton Rouge area as a drug/device rep, or in the insurance or banking business. He will do fine.

Relative to football however, he is what he is and unfortunately for him and for LSU, that is a subpar SEC QB. That is not all his fault. If someone like Jimbo Fisher, that has the ability to develope QBs, had tutored JJ for all 4 seasons, I think he looks drastically different right now.

JJ threw less than 10 TDs last season...as a QB with three 5 star receivers at his disposal. Just like after the Peach Bowl, people are allowing bowl success to cloud reality...he is a decent running athlete with poor decision making ability, self doubt and the throwing mechanics of you average mid-school QB.

I predict by the 2nd game, this board will be melting down calling for Mett...hell, maybe by the second quarter of the Oregon game.

This relates to two things that, at this point, cannot be fixed.

(1) Self confidence, and
(2) Mechanics

Throwing mechanics breeds consistency.

I think he will have a decent game vs Oregon. He usually does ok in the opener.

First of all. Andre Ware's opinion on football >>> yours.

How soon do we all forget that he threw for 2100 yards in his sophomore season, so the ability is there.

We had 2 5* star receivers and a 5* qb playing receiver. Not 3 5 star receivers. 1 of those, TT had the most inconsistent pair of hands on the team.

Which is why Krags has dedicated the summer to his throwing mechanics.

The second half of UNC disagrees with you.

Nothing against the guy, he's never conducted himself in an improper way or embarrassed the University. Heck, is has been the best option we've had at quarterback. But all this talk about JJ and "Heisman trophy" and "breakout year" are just wishful thinking. This is the third year in a row we're hearing about how good he looks in drills etc. There comes a time when you just have to realize that what you see is what you get.

I put 80% of that on the defensive plan. Chavis subbed in 3rd teamers left and right.

Overall he did ok, compared to most of his games during the year. I would take UNC type stats over most of his games.

I think JJ is going to have his best year this year. He doesn't have to win the heisman, or even be 1st team all-sec for us to be successful. He just needs to be a threat to throw the ball.

I haven't been the biggest JJ guy, but I'm rooting for him hard this year, we're going to need him.
