1. The guy who goes to the hottest school at the moment, and whose stated goal is to be the next "(insert Heisman winner from said school)", e.g. Joe McKnight

2. The ones who are committed to LSU but flirt around with other schools, and are blatantly dishonest with reporters and LSU's coaches about their intentions, perhaps lying about going to a funeral in order to visit a rival school, e.g. Luther Davis, Janzen Jackson. Jeremy Hill tried to pull that stunt, and then WHAM.

I'm considering adding some more, but we'll have to wait and see how their respective careers pan out first:

a) Any prospect that allows themselves to be used by a handler/mentor who has little, if any, education beyond a GED. Said handler may or may not work at Walmart. e.g Trovon Reed and Greg Robinson.

b) Any prospect who has a big enough ego to choose to go elsewhere simply to prove that 4 and 5 star prospects from Louisiana will go OOS, and then draws attention to himself for accomplishing such an awesome feat. These guys appear to just be too good for LSU, and they know it. Lorenzo Phillips, McKnight again.

c) Any Louisiana prospect who decides to play for Nick Saban. That's just bad juju. We'll see if Lacy, Sentimore, Bell, and Sylve change that, but I don't think any will be serious impact players.

Seriously, as much pissing and moaning there has been about the ones that have gotten away, none have (as of yet) had any substantial impact at the schools they chose. It'll be interesting to see if that trend continues.

Trovon Reed ('10) & Janzen Jackson ('09) are 2 recently that I did mind losing. However, both years we signed an OOS prospect to kind of even it out. In '09 we signed Craig Loston, and in '10 Kadron Boone. And both of those players look like they have a bright future.

One in-state player I really would have liked to sign was Darius Reynaud back in '04. That year we brought in Early Doucet, Xavier Carter, & Lavelle Hawkins, which is a fabulous haul on paper, but Doucet was the only player to really make an impact at LSU. Reynaud could have been an explosive threat on offense in multiple ways, and an asset in the return game.

I didn't really mind McKnight going to USC. But, he was a damn good college player, and I think he gets way too much hate on this board. Seems like a lot of people want to think that he was a flop, which is far from true. In 3 years at USC he had 2213 rushing yards, 6.4 ypc, & 13 TDs. And in his only NFL start during his rookie year he had 32 carries for 158 yards.

Janzen Jackson has been pretty damn good at UT, and Trovon and Greg are still rather young at AU. Sylve hasn't played a down and Lacy has looked good when he has had the opportunities.

Losing Janzen hurt bad.. Trovon and Greg not so much.

Lacy wasnt bad because we already had Mike Ford.

Joe McKnight was the biggest recruit to date that we have lost IMO.

But the recruit, thought not an instate guy, that broke my heart the most was CJ Johnson last year.

I posted this on another topic but oh well here it is again. I had forgot to mention Janzen Jackson who I guess has been the most disappointing recruit to lose so far. He got in a little trouble which lessons the blow some but he has had a pretty good career at TN. I remember him being committed to us for a while and then switched TN when Monte Kiffin became a defensive coach for his son Lane. Monte's success with Tampa Bay's secondary in the NFL was too much of a pull for us too keep Jackson. unfortunately

Greg Robinson did the smart thing. He probly couldn't compete with our o-line class of last year. And I stress probly, he could turn out to be a beast but like they say I don't want anyone afraid of competition anyway.

Sylve is more of a track guy who plays football. I don't wanna knock the guy, he can play football but I don't think it was that big of loss. Besides I hopeing we gotta better track guy/ return man/ receiver (that type of player) in this years class in Kavarha Holmes.

I really did want Trovon Reid. I think he was receiver with speed but he hasn't done much in Auburn yet and I stress Yet. We'll see how his college career ends off.

Yea I agree. I was really, really hoping on C.J. Johnson a lot. I thought we had a great chance with him in a class that we really needed LBs for. Good thing the state is deep in LBs this year but yea missing out on Johnson hurt tremendously. IMO

A lot of people are saying the same things about Sylve that they said about Demps coming out of HS. I'm not saying Sylve will have a comparable career, but I would hold comments until after you see him play a few downs of football at Bama.

U misunderstood me. I said that I wasn't knocking the guy that he can play football I just don't think he's gonna hurt our LSU over the next four years. U never know he could turn out to be a beast or he could turn out to be a complete bust. U never know. I also said Im hoping we got a better return man/ receiver type speed player in this years class in Kahavra Holmes. I would haved like for Sylve to have signed with LSU don't get me wrong(he did have a kick return for a td in one of the all star games I watched-under armour I think but I don't remember him catching a ball though). But I think don't think its a huge deal. I was not upset when Greg Robinson or Sylve signed else where like I was when Janzen Jackson and Trevon Reed signed else where no matter how there college careers turn out that's how I felt. And for the record Im upset about Lorenzo Phillips. I think yall gotta good one. On film be hits hard, wraps up, and can really get after the QB. I hope he ends off at LSU but if not congrats.
