Looking at the first picture it's amazing to think that college football started so late back then....September 22nd for the opener? Had to be a brutal wait.

EXACT same sked (flipping venues, obviously) two years in a row.

I know I'm hijacking this thread but it looks like we only played six conference games (including Tulane and Georgia Tech) and dodged Alabama both years. 9-1-1 in '62 including a Cotton Bowl win over Texas!

What I can't understand is why LSU ever discontinued this logo. IMO it is far and away the best tiger logo. I wish we'd go back to using it on everything but the helmets and the eye at midfield.

..BEST "logo" ever ! .... I bought about 50 very similar ( same Tiger, LSU graphic was horizontal) auto decals at a "closeout" at LSU Union many years ago to have a lifetime supply ! .. slight difference: The decal at the time also had an LSU University "seal" and the Campanille tower on it ... fabulous decal ...I will NEVER have to use the "toonces cat" ... ha!

I've always liked the Tiger on the helmet. Most items I used to get before they changed the logo had the same logo from the helmet. I wish we could go back to that one:
