iPhone 3GS help question.........

Mine is new, 3 months, and I'm almost positive I'm experiencing decreased volume in the earbuds when listening to music. I also hear little bass. Is this an earbuds issue or have I screwed some setting up possibly? Its not that I cannot hear it or anything, I can, I just like it loud sometimes.

do you have a case on it that might prevent you from plugging in all the way

I do have an otterbox but I made sure it was in all the way.
