Uncertain Future of Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs

The defending CHL President's Cup Champions, Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, are fighting for their own future now. The owner Tommy Scott stated that he by the end of the summer would like to have 2,500 but that he needs anywhere from 1,500 to 1,750 by next Friday 6/10 to commit to the CHL.
Right now I believe they are around 750 or so as of yesterday.
This being my first year having attended Mudbugs games at the CenturyTel Center and having personally witnessed a hockey team pack up and fold before, I do not want to see Bossier City and Shreveport lose this very succesful team. But now it is time for people to stand up and do something about it.
If you attend lots of games and never have considered season tickets they are not too expensive even in this economy. They are looking right now just for a $50 deposit per seat (refundable if the team does fold of course) and the rest of the payments are very flexible.
If you can't afford season tix but perhaps know some potential sponsors that could help out the Mudbugs then please feel free to try and help the team out by getting them a potential sponsor.

Got my 2 last week. I may not even go to half the games, but I dont care, its worth it to me to have a great option for my son and me to do.

Update...
It's not looking too good. I put down my deposit today on 2 season tix and was informed they were only at 947. The booster club is supposed to be helping the front office call people to try and boost sales so let's hope that happens.
If we lose the Mudbugs there will only be one remaining hockey team in LA.

I went to see the King Fish when they were in BR. If I lived in the area I'd buy tickets. Best of luck NELA.

Yes indeed it is a sad day. There now is only one hockey team remaining in the state and that's the Louisiana IceGators.

Getting people in Louisiana to get interested in Ice Hockey is hard. We don't see ice down here often, and there really aren't places for kids to get into it.
If schools had teams and kids could play then they would get the families involved. Without that the sport won't make it down here.

So true.
A side note though I guess since it's about Louisiana teams possibly folding. I honestly believe also that the Alexandria Aces will be folding soon in the very near future. I went to a game last week (second one of the season) and they had maybe 300-400 people at the game. Nobody is interested in the TCL in CenLa just like they've never been interested in any sports team here. Seems to be the same case in Shreveport-Bossier since the Captains almost left this year too.
A far cry from the 3-4 thousand during the "glory years" whenever they were an Independent team. If Alexandria loses ANOTHER team, I can't see any sports teams coming back to this town again.

Alexandria can't keep a team to save their lives.
