Is it just a given that this guy will get 0 acknowledgement should the Heat go on to win?

Alternatively, if they lose does he get slammed (assuming LBJ and Wade have a decent series)?

He's in a no-win situation, IMHO.

If he wins, it's because the Big Three carried him to victory.

If he loses, then he's obviously an incompetent because he couldn't win with them.

Granted, this guy wasn't helping his own case through his media statements this season, such as letting everyone know that the Heat were in the locker room crying like little girls after a loss.

I completely agree with you.

Yeah he is pretty much in a terrible position in terms of job security/likability with the Heat. The moment they don't make the finals, Spoelstra is gone.

What I was thinking as well

He got slammed during the regular season a handful of times. Heat make the finals and :crickets:
A lot of coaches get love for plays they drew up during TOs in close games, he doesnt even get credit there either.

Im not a gigantic Heat fan, just find the spot hes in kind of interesting.

I am not really sure he will care. Dude started out as a video editor's assistant and now he's coaching 3 studs and possibly going to get a ring out of it. A second one at that. I really don't think he's going to care whether he gets credit or not.

not from the media, probably not; peers and others around the league might be different.

I was curious if any NBA nut could give reasons as to why he should get credit.
I dont know enough about the Xs and Os to do so.

Eric Spoelstra has no clue what the hell he is doing. He is just along for the ride. Hell! I'd be a better coach than him.

He'll get a ton of credit if they win. He'll get his due. I hate the Heat, but I can respect Spoelstra.
