Sounds like he's doing the "I'm not asking to be traded" trade demand thing. He probably wouldn't end up on the Hornets, but he could go to a rival, the article does mention Iggy for Rudy Gay as a possible trade. Moving Iggy could also take Thaddeus Young off the market and I know several of you were hoping to make a run at him.

FIFY

We'd REALLY have no one in the starting lineup who can shoot with that lineup.

Well if there was ever a chance to move Emeka back to an Eastern Conference team.....

It's not good, but it's not atrocious. Iggy is about a 33% shooter from 3, maybe that goes up with Paul being a creator for him. Ariza played extremely well in the last month and in the postseason versus LA. If he plays like that we are plenty good enough shooting wise. Bring back Marco, and you have a very nice rotation with Iggy's ability to play point forward.

We'd absolutely be a better team, I'm just saying we'd not be that great of a shooting team.

If you can get Iggy, you do it. Figure out who plays center later on. West exercises his option, same with Gray, Landry walks, Marco is resigned for cheaper than the qualifying offer, same with Smith. Mek + QPon for Iggy. Probably puts you right up against the cap.

Available centers then, Tyson, Kwame Brown, Dalembert, Wilcox. That's off the top of my head.

But I'd love to get Sammy out of that group. Big guy with athleticism who also has a respectable mid range shot. Meaning he can play on the floor with Gray in spurts and the lane wouldn't be clogged for Iggy's driving ability.

Thoughts, Opinions ?

Paul/Jack
Iggy/Marco/Jack
Ariza/Iggy/Marco
West/Smith/Sammy
Dalembert/Gray/Smith

That would be your playoff rotation basically.

I think we'd have to use our 2nd round pick for a guy whose one job is to make 3s. I recommend Ravern Johnson out of Mississippi State.

Philly would never take that. Get rid of Iggy's contract for an even worse contract?

There trading away a player who plays a position where they are very deep and possibly doesn't even want to be there, for a player who is at a position where they dont have much talent.

They could just replace Iggy with Thaddeus Young while Mek would be a huge improvement over Spencer Hawes.

Most contracts for bigs suck so I mean it ain't like a team is going to add a big without a large contract. Definitely when they are trying to shed a large contract.

In the end it really isn't that tempting for Philly. MAYBE, MAYBE, Ariza plus a sign and trade with Landry and QPon would be enough.

They are looking for an eventual successor at the 4 for Brand still keep a defensive wing player on the team. Not my words of looking for a successor for Brand, read that on espn insider.

Not to mention his ability to create for others. He would be another playmaker on this team, so when Paul went out you still would have a guy who could help get some of our less talented players easy shots.

That's too much IMO considering the strong finish to the the season for Ariza.

He is also a better player than Okafor, and the contracts are pretty similar.

There is no way in hell the 76ers would do that trade.

Don't be so sure. They need a center. And Okafor is better than Spencer Hawes, trust me.

But then what do we do at center? And whatever we do in FA, why wouldn't Philly be better off keeping Iggy and getting that FA?

And I don't want to give up on Oak. He had a horrible series, but he was great in the first half of the season and played himself back to a pretty good level after the injury.
