That said it's important to remember that this team has lost 7 games by 1 run - 6 of those in the SEC. Prior to this weekend, they were certainly competitive.

This weekend however, certainly looked like a team that had given up. Other than a reserve Catcher yelling some support to one of the pitchers in the game today, I didn't see any ra ra support from the players.

The pitching was nothing more than batting practice. LSU was quite fortunate the score wasn't a heck of a lot higher as Vandy left an absurdly high 17 runners on base on 20 hits and 6 LSU walks.

I'd say pitching is clearly where this team is reeling - more than anything else

Seemed like we had an all systems failure this weekend.

I haven't given up hope on this team No matter that we're really flailing at present still hoping CPM can get all of the pieces in their right place.

Every team has their worst series of the year. Hoping this was ours.

I understand where you're coming from but the wheels came off after getting swept by Fl in Alex Box.

The remaining sweeps just took care of the rest of the train. Getting swept by 5 teams in the SEC? In case anyone forgot, there are only 11 teams in the conference.
We've gone from a locomotive to the little see-saw railroad car you saw on Bugs Bunny when the coyote was trying to catch the road runner at this point.

LSU has been beyond garbage on the road since last season. I'm not really surprised by this weekend at all.

Vandy's very good. I'm not more concerned about this team than I was last week.

I think you are clever enough to understand that he is not including LSU in his tally, since we cannot sweep ourselves, can we?

ETA: I didn't get the year wrong and edit

I edited out a pointless comment comparing the teams.

I went to the Friday game and watched the Saturday and Sunday games on TV. Boby language from PM and the players is all you need to see. It doesn't take much adversity to delrail this team. Confidence is shot.

I'm gonna disagree with this one. Our starting pitching has been pretty good this season

I guess I'm splitting hairs here, but we have not been swept by 5 SEC teams...

you know who makes excuses? The losing team. Whether you lose by 1 or by 10, it still gets marked as 1 in the L column.

That is what I am talking about. I was there late Saturday and Sunday. Before walking in I was watching a couple of pitchers warm up. In between innings the only guy I heard say a thing was the back up catcher. There was absolutely no positive vibes going on.

I think besides pitching being down, this team lacks that go to leadership guy who inspires the team - or at least no one has stepped in to accept that role.

You might be right there - the 1 run loss games were not always due to poor pitching. Still the team ERA is what now?

no idea, but the Florida, Arkansas, and Auburn series were not lost due to pitching

You're absolutely correct. My fault. I forgot that LSU plays LSU from time to time.

So correction: 5 out of 12 teams have beat us.

Thanks!
