Anyone recommend a marine battery charger? Mine seems to not charge my new batteries properly. I am not looking to break the bank but I want something worth it. Thanks in advance.

I am looking for a mobile because I have multiple boats to charge. My dad sometimes needs to use the charger on his batteries.

Just about any portable battery charger will work. Just make sure that you buy one with selectable amperage output so that you can trickle chage your marine batteries and still have the versatility to fast charge car or atv batteries.

LINK This is the best for the money. I got my dad one exactly like it for around 45 bucks at Sams. Same battery charger but not Black and Decker name. After going through a Minn Kota charger (the worst) and a Sears charger I LOVE this chareger. Oringinally got it for the two marine batteries I used in my canoe. Little did I know I would one day buy a flats boat with an AGM battery and this charter has a setting for AGMs. Also used the quick crank feature on my truck.

For a portable version Walmart sells a nice little model that puts out up to 10 amps, has settings for viewing the battery life in volts or percentage of charge, has settings for small and large batteries, has an engine start option, and can charge standard, deepcell, and AMGEL batteries. It also has red, yellow and green lights to indicate dead, charging, and fully charged batteries. It runs about 30 dollars. I have ahd mine for 4 years and it has held up well.

This past winter I used a battery charger/maintainer made by "Battery Tender". Bought mine from Amazon. Mine is the 4 bank model that allows me to keep 4 batteries maintained at once. Unlike other battery tricklers, the Battery Tender constantly analyzes the battery's condition, charging it if below 80% and not charging when at 100%. The other battery chargers already mentioned by others will work better to quickly charge a weak/dead battery, but if what you need is something to maintain a battery's charge, check out one of these.
