Hammond area Mexican

For the last few years, my favorite Mexican restaurant has been El Ranchito, on Hwy 51, just south of Tickfaw.

But, last Friday I visited El Tapatio in Hammond. It is across from the Best Western, across from the mall, and behind Taco Bell. I never even knew it existed. There is a Friday lunch group I belong to, and we met there last Friday. Upon arriving one of the people already there said, "Where did you find "this" place, referring to the atmosphere, or lack thereoff. (Not my group, but I sent the notices this time.) I replied that it had been suggested, strongly, by two other members. About that time, the food arrived. All I can tell you is that the food there is very good. Hopefully, one of the Hammond guys can check it out, and review it. I was impressed!
