The Briggs and Stratton on my old MTD finally locked up and thus forced me to buy a new riding mower.

I found a pretty good deal at Lowes on a Troy Bilt Pony. 18hp 42 inch cut for $999. They also threw in a dump trailer as a promotion.

This is my first new riding mower and I was wondering what the outdoor board's opinion of this brand and model was? Pony

Keep the oil changed regularly, blades sharpened, belts maintained and moving parts greased and it'll serve you well.

IMO all the troy bilt products are solid.

I don;t own any, but know people that do.

I own a Kubota 25 hr tractor that is old as dirt and a 60" ZD21 mower. Routine maint and normal worn out parts.

You'll probably cut your yard twice a week for the first month or so AND maybe your neighbor's.

I've already told my father I was gonna cut his grass tomorrow.
