What's going on with Photobucket

Why do I and some other posters have a message box in our avatar space saying photobucket is doing some work right now and my image will be back soon?

Photobucket is down and has been down for like 2 days.
They got hacked by a DNS attack, but they are just saying they are having an issue with hardware. They've given like 3 different deadlines for getting it back up and all 3 have come and gone. Right now they are just saying "please be patient"
