He just posted his TED talk today.

I thought it was pretty inspiring, and an interesting look into his life now, and how he's been able to deal with it.

He doesn't have a jawbone anymore, but instead of a computer voice for the entire speach, he has his friends take turns reading. It almost feels more powerful that way.

He's the only movie critic I follow on a weekly basis. It really is amazing how well he's handled all he's been through.

is there any critic worse than ebert? He takes money to give big studio releases good reviews, he talks out of his arse. He gives bad reviews to good films either because of some moral objection or the fact that he wouldn't know a good film if he saw one. When time proves him wrong he revisits the film and decides that he likes it because everyone else does...this guy is the ultimate tool and I wish he'd go away.

He is the Peter King of the movie critics

ugh

EDIT: When I say I want him to go away, I don't mean I want him to die and I feel bad about everything he's been through

Ebert gets mad respect from me because of his Great Movies list. He writes with such enthusiasm and his list is very broad and covers almost every corner of film. His essay about 2001: A Space Odyssey helped me appreciate what films are capable of and I'm forever grateful.
