These are some pretty solid accomplishments - don't you think?
1999-2000 -- LSU wins SEC West; SEC overall championship ... NCAA Sweet 16 ... Consensus SEC Coach of the Year; LSWA Coach of the Year ... NABC/USBWA District Coach of the Year ... Runner-up, National Coach of the Year.
2001-02 -- Team wins nine of the last 11 games, advances to the second round of the NIT.
2002-03 -- LSU wins nine of the last 13, including seven straight to earn a second NCAA Tournament appearance under John Brady ... Named LSWA Coach of the Year; Louisiana Association of Basketball Coaches Coach of the Year.
2003-04 -- LSU advances to the National Invitation Tournament.
2004-05 -- LSU posts a 12-4 record in winning the SEC Western Division ... Tigers go 8-0 in league play at home, the first undefeated conference home record since 1981 ... Team advanced to the NCAA Tournament, the fourth straight post season berth and fifth in the last six years.
2005-06 -- LSU posts a 14-2 record in winning the SEC title, the school's first title since 200 and the first outright title in 21 years ... Tigers go 8-0 in league play at home for the second straight year ... Team advances to the NCAA Tournament and defeats Iona, Texas A&M, No. 1 Duke and Texas to advance to the NCAA Final Four for the first time in 20 years ... Names SEC Coach of the Year, LSWA Coach of the Year and finalist for the Jim Phelan National Coach of the Year award.

Pretty easy to believe how some of us STILL appreciate the job John Brady did - with a horrible situation he knowingly inherited.
Perhaps some of you here need to be reminded by me and his current LSU Sports.net infor of the job Brady did while coach - as well as the fact that Johnson's first year LSU team that won the SEC, was for all intensive purposes - Brady's team!

Let it go. He's not coming back, ever. period.

Oh I know he's not, he would never consider coming back here - nor would he ever be offered. This is just a personal rant at what I think was a hasty fire - just a couple of years after a LSU final four run.

Yea, well those two years were pretty damn bad, and plus being a head coach is not all about records (as some would have you believe). Brady was a d-bag, his players didn't respect him (nor did he respect them). I think it was time for him to go, I'm holding judgement on TJ until after next season

i notice the 06-07 and 07-08 seasons aren't included

fwiw, Brady basically had the same team his last year that TJ had his first year (add Randolph minus Tasmin Mitchell), and that didn't work out so well. The "*insert current coach here* won with *insert previous coach here*" argument is pretty played out

John Brady lost his job not completely because of the state of his program, but because he was an insufferable arse who alienated the wrong people at LSU.
End of story.
