I am mostly a football basketball guy and consider myself a casual baseball fan. with that said, how good is this baseball team through 11 games? I know the schedule hasn't been extremely tough and the team has some new faces but was wondering if some of you who follow baseball could give me your thoughts. Thanks!

I think they are good, but we are gonna have to wait and see to know if they are great. The next two weekends will tell us a lot about the team. If LSU emerges from the UF series in 2 weeks and are an 18-2 team then it's probably safe to say they are great

My big question coming into this season was pitching. And although the season is young and the competition has not been top notch, I have been VERY impressed, so far. We will see as the competition increases. Also, we need more productivity from the catcher position. But all in all, this team could be a championship caliber team.

I'd like to see them score more runs on their own. Less errors from the opposition. They know how to play small ball very well but our competition has been throwing the ball all over the field. You'll get a much better feel after cal st and of course UF.

Same as all them said, the next 2 weekends are going to tell a lot and the Box will be rocking for both series. These young pitchers will get better and better. Hopefully we can have a staff like UCLA had last year in the next couple years with all these great young pitchers.

when they face better pitching and fielding, the scoring will go down. expect some close games. there has been a shift in college ball from gorilla ball to the more technical aspects of the game; bunting, base running, quality defense, hitting behind the runner and sacrifice hitting, etc. the more knowedgable fans will love it but the casual fan needs to learn more about the game. we'll see how it plays out but i think we'll be fine and have a very solid team or better. our fan support is a huge advantage.
