Surprised to see Krag get that much as he was out of coaching last yr, though I'll admit I dont know what other options he had. Ensminger a raise but not Wilson??

Kragthorpe's proposed contract is for three years with an annual salary of $700,000, equal to that of defensive coordinator John Chavis.
The athletic department is proposing salary increases for defensive line coach Brick Haley from $340,000 to $380,000; for offensive line coach Greg Studrawa from $230,000 to $275,000; and for tight ends coach Steve Ensminger from $170,000 to $190,000.
In addition, a promotion has been proposed for head strength and conditioning coach Tommy Moffitt to assistant athletic director which would increase his annual compensation from $215,000 to $300,000.

No state tax dollars and no student fees are used to fund LSU Athletics. All revenues are generated through ticket sales, donations associated with tickets, radio and television rights, concessions and merchandise sales and Southeastern Conference revenue distribution. USA Today recently reported that LSU and Nebraska were the only two athletics programs in the nation that used no state tax dollars to operate their athletics programs in each of the last four years.

I don't see how people don't know this, LSU is one of the two schools in the country that doesn't have to support it's athletic department. In fact, I'm fairly certain LSU Athletics donates a few million every year to the school

That's insane for college football coaches. It really makes me sick.

Maybe you shoulda gone into coaching. Check out how much money they make the school

LSU Football doesn't need to draw money from state funds and academic funds. It's one of the few teams that make enough money to pay the coaches what they pay.

While true, I know Miles has a base salary from the state. He's a state employee. It's only a couple hundred thousand but he is on the state's payroll. I don't know about assistants though.
eta: Found it. The sad thing is Crowton was the 3rd highest paid in the state @ $400K.

+1
I personally think J. Chavis deserves more than Krag right now. Krag hasn't done any thing yet.

Can we get Frank Wilson a f'n raise?
Posted on 2/24/11 at 3:03 pm to Lee Chatelain
The only one I take any issue with is Studrawa. He leads the most underperforming squad on the team. The only other one who could compete for that claim is coaching at Maryland now. This clown gets a raise.

Coach Wilson got a 100% raise to come to LSU from UT. I expect he'll get a bump next year.
