of Nascar - 20 year old winning in only his second sprint cup start - first win for Woods Brothers in a long time.

I doubt it... A Daytona 500 win is not exactly an excellent indicator of how the season is going to turn out... He may be a top 20 driver or so, but I seriously doubt he will be the savior.

He is the Tim Tebow of Nascar now.

That kid certainly didn't win by a fluke by any means.

He stayed up front, kept his nose clean, and was in position to win at the end.

Kid has mad skills.

He doesn't even have a full ride this year--I think that's gonna change, though.

Why does NASCAR need a savior?

It is way too early to say that. He is talented, but to say he's "the savior" is a bit premature bro.

NASCAR doesn't need a savior. It's doing just fine. Bayne's just another NASCAR "feel good story" in a long line of em.

I'm a casual NASCAR fan, but with the exception of the last 10 laps this was a boring Daytona 500.

Ford will step in a make sure Wood Brothers have sponsorship $ for remainder of year. Or they may let him get away like they did Jeff Gordon, Kyle Bush & Kasey Kahne.

That two-by-two racing is boring shite. Drafting is bad enough, but a whole race of dance partners is just too weird.

A lot of the favorites were taken out on lap 29, so yeah, it wasn't the most exciting Daytona ever. Still enjoyable though.

You wanna see boring? Check out Pocona. Worst track in NASCAR IMO. I have trouble staying awake it's so boring.

Couple it with TNT's awful coverage with Wally and it's a snoozer.

Amazing win by the 20 year old rookie. And hell, I'm old enough to remember the Wood brothers when they were in their prime.

Yeah, but it is still a restrictor plate race, 1 of 2 on the circuit. Let's see how he does on the intermediates/ cookie cutters.

Wally's the worst. Idk why TNT can't find someone else. He talks about how good of a driver he was and he was mediocre at best. Dude had no wins and 23 top tens in Cup.

Damn, that's pretty cool. You've seen NASCAR go from small time to big time.

Yea, I've been around a while.

Saw the King in his prime and followed Sr pretty much all of his career.

I'll be honest. I prefer that NASCAR to what I see today.

why is it showing that he has 0 points in the standings? since he won the race, shouldn't he have at least 44 pts in the new system? there were also 3 or 4 other racers that were in the race that are showing 0 points earned. confused.

Me too. I don't like the new points system.
