Love this movie, but...

A 6ft thick concrete wall? Uh, no.

That had to be worse luck than getting falsely convicted of murder. I guess that wall is key to the whole story though.

depends on the age of the prison. Reinforced concrete did not take off until the 20-30. So yeah, its' possible depending on the architecture.

Not really. Wasn't he working for the warden and the guards? His work probably garnered himself the favor of keeping the cell he wanted.

No it's not.

..and 2) it was reinforced, you could see the rebar he cut through. (although it was in the wrong place and not enough for a 6ft thick wall)

I think he was lucky to get that cell in the first place, yes. After that, he curried a lot of favor with the warden and the guards by doing the stuff he did for them. So I think it's more to do with that than being lucky the whole time.

ive said before the luckiest part was him hiding the hole with girlie posters despite the warden being a bible thumper. why take that chance? put up a jesus poster or something
