On SB Nation msg board, they are talking about the best team that Kirk Frentz at IOWA has beat. I don't know if we were the best, but surely had lots of talent. This was Coach Nick Saban coached talent. In this particular game, we LOST, and by a DB being out of position no less. Some of the guys on roster during '04 Cap 1 Bowl:

Pretty strong list, makes the cap one loss even more inexcusable.

Your list of players misses the DB who was out of position to begin with...Ronnie Prude who went on to play for the Baltimore Ravens (don't know if he was drafted or not). Prude inexplicably thought he was playing an underneath zone when he was supposed to be in man. Let his receiver run right past him.

So with this list of players, it was the coaches fault LSU lost. I agree.
