Seven people were injured, one of them critically, when ice fell from the roof of Cowboys Stadium this afternoon, authorities said.

The accident happened about 1:15 p.m. at the stadium, site of Sunday’s Super Bowl XLV.

“The ice and snow melting off of the Cowboys Stadium roof has caused several sliding snow falls onto the plazas,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said in an e-mail.

The accident forced officials to shut all but one entrance to the stadium.

Depends. If the Cowboys took steps to clean it up, then the accident happened in that case they will get well paid indeed. However if they didn't try to clean it since it snowed (natural), then they could still have a case, albeit a weaker one.

I say three year rotation of Miami, New Orleans and Phoenix.

Yes, and LA if they get an NFL team/stadium.

I say NOLA and Miami are out because they may get hit by a Hurricane in October and leave no time to repair the stadiums. San Diego may have an Earthquake. Phoenix may end up deporting its labor force.

Man, talk about a disaster for Dallas. They won't host another SB here for ages at this point.

Dallas needs to get some advice from Houston on how to run a successful Super Bowl.

Miami radio stations have been bashing the NFL all week. Last year Goodell said the SB may not be back in Miami again unless a roof is put on the stadium because it rained last year.

It has been in the upper 70's and low 80's and sunny all week. Perfect weather and the sports talk radio is having a field day laughing at the NFL here.

So I guess their point is weather is fickle. The fact remains the game itself will be played in perfect conditions. Now I don't really care. I think its funny the weather has fricked up the media and hi-rollers parties.

That is a big part of the superbowl and a big reason Miami is a top location. Great weather in Feb, and endless nightlife.

"North Texas" is just too spread out: venue, hotels, restaurants/entertainment

Houston's parking and transit situation for Reliant is superior, though the DFW/Arlington stadium is awesome. Still, Reliant's no dump.

Houston generally has better weather this time of year.
