Can anyone recommend one? Have never purchased online but thinking about it. What is the process? Does the FFL holder have to make the purchase or do you just call them up and tell them to expect the gun? Thanks.

Depending on who you buy from. The seller must have a copy of the FFL license in order to ship.

I've used Puglia's on Vets. Shooters and 10-8 tactical probably have FFLs along with a few scattered pawn shops.

My only online purchase was Bud's and Puglias. I think they charged $35, which was the high end of FFL fee range, but the process was seemless. NTM Bud's already had the FFL license on file.

Make sure you look at the gun before signing off on the transfer. Once you sign off there ain't no turning back.

ETA: Ordered from Buds, they shipped to Puglia's, Puglia's called when it came in, showed up and filled out the 4473, and left...too easy

Have another question. Is the ffl holder required to collect the sales tax? If so, there appears to be no advantage to buying the gun I'm looking at online (xdm 9 3.8)versus walking in the store.
