I didnt read the article but I'd imagine our pitching staff is why we're not ranked higher

Nice lowered expectations for a young team. I like it

Looks OK to me. I just want to make it to Omaha with this pitching crew.

That and the fact that we are counting on a number of unproven players. Talented, but unproven.

Kinda low, for what we are used to BUT....the question marks at pitching & what LSU will be able do with even smaller bats is an unknown. Like I always say, it ain't where they got ya in Feb, its where you end up in June!

Good reading. The young pitching staff is our biggest question mark.

Florida at #1 is crazy, damn.

Not in my mind! He is a stud and although I LOVE Serrano, I wish that Fullerton still had him.

Didn't we already lose a Freshman pitcher that was expected to get a ton of PT? I'm not really optimistic about our pitching this year...

Alsup is basically our day 1 starter? Is Ott going to try and be a starter or what?

Not exactly...Koziol was going to serve mop up duty as a pitcher at best.

Yes, Ott's going to start in the bullpen

Btw: LSU has 7 newcomers who were drafted. (Gausman,J Jones, Eades, T Jones, Ross, Hopkins, and Dykstra)

FROM BA CHAT:

Andy (Baton Rouge, LA): The top 3 teams look to be in the SEC East this year, but how do you see the SEC West shaking out this year?

Aaron Fitt: Pretty wide open, I think. I'd give LSU a slight edge because of its strength up the middle (really like Nola/Hanover combo and Mahtook, obviously), but I'm very intrigued by that young, talented Arkansas team, too. Don't overlook Ole Miss -- should be a solid lineup of grinders with some pop and some athleticism, and the Rebels are convinced they have upgraded their pitching in the offseason. I need to see guys like David Goforth and Austin Wright do it in the spring before I really buy in, but I do really like their bullpen. And Auburn is still a factor too, although the Tigers lost a ton from last year. I could see any of those four teams winning that division.
