I admit that I do not follow much of the LSU basketball program, for one living out of state I don't get to watch any games, just read reports.

That being said, I like Trent Johnson and his coaching records is incredible. I honestly cannot believe that he forgot how to coach once he came to LSU. This brings me to my question, exactly what was the state of the LSU program when Brady left? Was the program in such a state that LSU truly is rebuilding the program from scratch?

No. Trent helped it become a bottom feeder.

Yes. It will take TJ two more years for LSU to be competitive and finally have a base to build upon. After two years LSU will field a competitive team every year under TJ.Patience is a virtue.Something some LSU fans don't possess.

yes brady did. after TJ's first team, most his players left and he was forced to rely on walk-ons for his second year. this year he brought in a great class, but all the teams talent is in the freshmen. he had a transfer from ole miss who is starting this year, but he has been a huge disappointment. pretty much everyone who is not a freshman is simply not very good. now yes, part of that is coaching, the other part is this team just isn't very good. it's also the 21st youngest team in division 1 ball. that alone will cause problems simply due to youth. he is bringing in 2 good players next year so I really feel the team will be far better when they actually have some good sophomores with these good freshman. still will be rough b/c of the lack of upper classmen talent.

So in other words, TJ is Lou Tepper?

I'm sorry but there's patience and then there's something called "eat with the dumbass". And if you think that LSU fans should just sit around and wait for 2 more embarassing years for what may or may not happen as opposed to getting somebody in that wins immediately (see Kentucky, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Bama as examples) - then you are not being patient, you are a dumbass. I have a timeshare condo I'd like for you to buy and a number of somebody in Amway to get in touch with if you want to be a millionaire.

Those teams may not be winning the national championship but they are where LSU would like to be right now: competitive.

Two more years of this is unaccepatable. It's not like Brady left and took all the players with him. TJ was left with more to work with than some of you are trying to paint in this picture.

What yall fail to realize is that this is LSU. It's never been a basketball powerhouse, and never will be. This is a football and baseball powerhouse school. Basketball will always take the backseat against those two.

Also, the state of Louisiana is a football and baseball state. Always has, always will.

With that being said, I would love for LSU to become at least a contender for March Madness year in and year out. Just the possibilities of that happening are slim.

TJ took what Brady left him with and won the SEC. TJ now finds himself in a rebuilding situation.TJ won the SEC with the same players Brady couldn't win with and was fired as a result.Whether you like it or not, it will take time to rebuild at LSU on a solid base. LSU isn't Duke or Kentucky.

Incredible? He's gotten one team as far as the Sweet 16 in his career. I hardly believe that qualifies as incredible.

FWIW, the Baton Rouge area produced Brandon Bass, Big Baby, and Taz in three consecutive years. They were all top prospects and Mcdonalds AA. They all were locks to go to LSU also. I don't think people understand that Brady just happened to be gifted a talented core of players.

To my knowledge LA has not had that ridiculous type of talent sitting around. Also big time players are recruited basically in Jr. High. You can't expect Johnson just to have a great relationship with the current big prospects all of the sudden. It takes time.
