first let me say that i live and die lsu football. as i read all these posts people keep talking about how great it is in baton rouge and what Miles has etc..i have lived in boston, dallas, houston, atlanta as well as baton rouge...i can tell you without a doubt living in baton rouge is like walking back 10 to 15 years in time and it is a total culture shock if you are not from there...its a small town with a small town atmosphere...there is nothing wrong with that but miles and his wife are not from there...baton rouge is a great college town but so is ann arbor and the schools up there are much better and it is a much more liberal environment. the university of michigan is an elite public university academically and it's reach is from coast to coast...there are many advantages for miles to go to michigan...but i would not guess as to how much they love baton rouge and the people there...after having lived in many great cities i thought baton rouge was a major step down...LA is not a highly educated state and often ranks in the bottom 5% of every category that is tracked by the federal government...sure he might live in a big house but if you can't stand your neighbors what difference does it make....he can still have his house in destin...but the baton rouge country club is no big deal i can assure you...

A majority of people who relocate to Louisiana say it is a "fun" place but not as nice to raise kids as where they came from

While I agree with most of your statement, I disagree with why he won't leave. I think he will stay because the hard part is done here. He has maintained a top notch program and seems like he all but has tenure here. In Michigan there is no guarantee, and in my opinion liklihood, that he will succeed or still have his job in 5yrs. All that other stuff is BS, when you make 4million/yr I doubt you give a shite about 1. the public schools 2. Or the projects of BR. Thats the point of making money, to not be affected by society shortfalls.

What we offer isn't the city, buddy. What we bring is awesome facilities and a LOT of financial backing. We have alot of money in out football program, and as a coach that allows you to recruit more and it makes your job easier. You are right my friend about BR we are behind as a city but LSU as a football program has the "MEANS" so you shouldn't be so down.
