that he waits 'til his job is on the line to do what he should have been doing for 2 years

Either that, or A&M was vastly overrated. Which means he still needs to go. (see: Ga Tech '08)

I just can't see how that was a 'signature' Crowton game. Les had to be heavily involved in the play calling last night. It was a totally different offense, with a ton of power running.

I'll go with option #2.

WTF was up with pitching the ball to run up the gut?

A&M was vastly overrated my friend. State woulda taken it to them. Oklahoma State shoulda been there, not aTm.

I think the O-line had two great players back and they had over a month to gel. The O line was decimated for much of the year and it was very patchwork. They did a nice job in the run game but couldn't hold defenders off for the passing game like they did last night. I'm sure GC would have like for the offense to have performed like that all season.

you have better momentum from a pitch than a handoff, but it is riskier

As much as I want Crowton replaced, JJ underperformed most of the year.

When you're having that much success running the ball, what OC isn't going to look good?

So its back to the cellar, like we did after the Chick bowl?

WTF? You dont gain any momentum from a pitch when running a dive play.

I hate that play and they have been running it all year long. I have no clue why they pitch, all its doing is adding more risk of JJ making a bad pitch and the RB fumbling the ball. By far the worst play design I have ever seen. Just hand the damn ball off.

I hope not. . .but If we are stuck with Gary, maybe he can do better with a real QB?

statistically speaking, the play has performed well this year...

After last night's game, I'm pretty much convinced that our QBs are not the problem. Bad QBs don't just "come to play." I'm convinced that we need a new OC.

whether Gary called it or not, isn't really the question...who did the game plan and set the overall strategy? Did Crowton dump the 5-wide and zone reads himself?

It's pretty damn frustrating. Crowton is obviously not an offensive genius but he is unquestionably handcuffed by the QBs at times. JJ was only like 10-19 last night but he hit the big plays to Toliver and the 3rd downs so with the run game we looked great. I'm hoping like hell Crowton looks better next year with an effective QB whether it's JJ or Mett.

What I liked most is we had an identity, a gameplan, looked like we knew what the hell we were doing. I just want to see more of that. Have an offensive identity for the love of God.

LSU was ranked 112th the year after the Chick bowl. How bad do they have to be ranked for it to be cellar worthy for you?

All fans should be asking themselves this exact question about both Miles and Crowton. Why do they wait until their asses are on the line or they are backed into a corner to put together a stellar game plan? This has been going on for years, it's not new. Neither man has the ability to look good unless he has had weeks or a month to prepare.
