I'm a Tiger Alum, she is an Aggie Alum, we are scheduled to get married in 78 days. Having watch party tonight at her parent's house with my family. It should be interesting. I hope I don't become to insane and talk s#$@ like I normally do to opposing teams.

Any advice from those of you that are married to the enemy (bama, auburn, ole miss, etc), so that we can live in peace and I will still be able to get some after the game

Find someone else or convert her. I converted my wife to LSU when her entire family is avid UGA fans. I told her there would be none of that in my house.

if you have to not be yourself around your future family, that is pretty sad

just give them fair warning and do your thing

You think that's bad? I have a friend who is an avid Bammer and his wife is an Auburn freak.

They literally do not speak to each other for the entire week of the Iron Bowl. My friend will actually spend the week at his camp just to avoid a fight.

Grab a couple stogies, a bottle of scotch and listen in the back yard on the radio.

Walk in smiling like nothing happened after we whip that arse.

They know.

First mistake - you're going to HER family's house. You are screwed already. She already has the upper hand; then

If you act differently, mistake #2 - let them know "What you see is what you get"; that way, there are no suprises after the wedding and you don't have to act like someone you're not.
If you start bending now, she will break you. Yes, I am a woman and have seen it happen. Never ends well. With that,

That ain't her...

She is a good sport, last football season she came to the Vanderbilt game and wore purple and gold LSU shirt and hat. She came this year just to come to the tailgate for Bama. I luckily haven't had to go to an Aggie game yet.

I was debating sending the picture of her in the LSU gear to her work, but thought that might not be a good idea.

I am married to a bammer. If your wife is into football like mine is and LSU is whippin that arse, trust me, you aint getting any for a while, no matter how cordial you may act during the game.

My wife is an Ole Miss fan.

But I DO NOT allow that shite in my house. And she knows it.

She can watch thier games on Jefferson Pilot every weekend and I will sit quietly through it, but no Ole Miss crap is allowed to clutter my house or contaminate the kids.

My home is an LSU home. Period.

When LSU plays Ole Miss, we watch and we don't say anything. No trash talk before, during or after the game.

I think you will be safe with an A&M wife, because we rarely play anymore, and likely won't unless big changes occur. But don't let too many of these little divides exist in your marriage. You need unity... even on the little things. LSU/Ole Miss is one of those little things we don't do so well with. And it's not because I'm an oppressive a-hole. It's entirely her fault, basically. ;)

Two things:
1). Congrats on marrying up. :)
2). Rule #1!!! (from texags. Must post a pic if you're going to talk about a chick. Helps the board to give appropriate advice.)

I would be very honest with your fiancée and her family. Tell them how much you love them and how much you look forward to being part of their family this year. Then be very honest and tell that you hope they don't take offense..."but when the kickoff comes tonight, you'll all be a bunch of assholes!...(smile and say) GO TIGERS!

Just one thing I can think of. If they make a play compliment their team for making a play and don't bash, let's say ...hatcher for missing a tackle. Don't debate everything cause even though you probably know way more than them, they will take it as arrogant shite talking.

Tell her family you'll let them enjoy watching their team play in a January bowl it since they won't be able to next year but you're used to it.
