I have learned that there are some serious restrictions with respect to tailgating on the stadium property. I live in MN, and I know very little about Arlington or even Dallas.

I have two good tickets to the game, good prepaid parking and decent lodging in the Arlington Garden district. I am flying down with my girlfriend on Thursday afternoon, the 6th.

This past September, I caught the Tigers game at Vandy. The evening before, we found a real nice LSU party at a Cajun restaurant located South of Nashville. We enjoyed a good time, some good music, dancing and some good food. Everybody there was having a great time!

On gameday in Nashville, we found another LSU party at a local Steakhouse, and had a few cocktails and a good time just a few blocks from the Vandy Stadium.

I know all about tailgating in Baton Rouge, and I made 4 games down there this year.

I am looking for some LSU parties at public places in Arlington or West Dallas to share with my girlfriend. She is excited to be going to the game and I hope to expose her to some LSU pregame social activities on both Thursday evening and Friday afternoon.

I know that the LSU Alumni are hosting some stuff, but it's not exactly what I am looking for. Something outside, or under a big tent, with music, cocktails, good food and good people...that's what I seek.

Is there anybody who can give me some direction?

Thanks in advance! Geaux Tigers!!!

MEEE NAAHH SOOOOOO TAAAAAHHH

Never tailgated at Jerry World... 1st try for most of us. I plan on using this trip for a tailgating scouting trip for Labor Day vs. Oregon... I think it is going to be on like Donkey Kong for Oregon.

Have you ever tailgated at the Metrodome? I hear Viking fans are legit tailgaters.

CiCi's pizza parking lot outside west entrance of stadium. Look for our purple and gold trailer, LSU flags, and tents. We will be frying a turkey, cooking seafood gumbo, and partying all day long. Great music as well!

Tailgating at the Metrodome is plain ole weak compared with what goes on in Baton Rouge. The is an area just outside the dome in Minneapolis where people can tailgate, but it's really quite small compared to that which Tiger fans are accustomed. Really small scale!!

I appreciate your feedback, and I guess we'll do some scouting of our own. I hope to be able to get down to Dallas for the Oregon game. My girlfriend's son wants to go to Oregon, and he is a big fan of the Ducks.

I bought my girlfriend a purple ls shirt from Tyger Gifts for the game. It's got "LSU TIGERS" on the front in gold glitter, and looks great on her! There's some lycra/spandex in that shirt!!

LOL!! Geaux Tigers!

I've tailgated 2x at Jerryworld. To me it was like Tailgating anywhere else. We had a tent, BBQ pit, chairs, ice chests, etc.

Hey...Thanks! I read somewhere about Cici's Pizza near the stadium. I think it was when I was googleing "Cotton Bowl Stadium Parking".

I am glad to hear that and will be in attendance on gameday afternoon!

Now, if I can figure something out for Thursday evening!

Thanks again!!

Thanks for the info. Somehow, I thought that it was discouraged. Me and my sweetie will be checking it all out!

You might be correct. I don't think that I can get into my parking lot before noon. I'll have to check on what time it is available. I plan to park near the stadium sometime in the early afternoon.

As a matter of fact, I can't get into my lot until 3 PM. I have a number to call, though. I can ask if I can pay extra to park a little early. My parking spot is about a mile East of Cowboy Stadim, even a little SE of Ranger Park. It's a small lot and looks on the sattelite view as if it is for a Wharehouse.

LOL!!! Hey, I am 60 years old and she is 57! I gotta admit, though, that she is in great shape, slender and cute.....for 57!

Believe it or not, I don't yet have a pic! I got a real chuckle out of your post, though. Thanks for the laugh!

parking lots open at noon per cotton bowl website, not 2 pm like for Cowboy games.

We'll be parked on the curb at 8 am with our tailgate set up in the lot.

LSU DFW alumni are holding all-day tailgate at Humperdinks, a sports bar not too far from JerryWorld:

Lived in Arlington for 17 years, but never heard of this area. Be careful, like most cities, Arlington has some rough areas.

West Dallas

There's nothing good to be found in West Dallas. North Dallas or Park Cities, yes, but that's about it where Dallas is concerned.

If you're in Dallas the best places to go out to party are Midtown (McKinney Avenue) or Greenville Avenue.

On McKinney you got the MAT (McKinney Ave Tavern) and Idle Rich Pub, which are my two favorites. The Corner Bar on Knox-Henderson could be considered Midtown/SMU area as well. Its a fun bar.

On Greenville you have a ton of bars as well. I like Stans Blue Note and the Dubliner.

As far as the lots opening at noon. Yes, that is correct, but they have opened a couple hours earlier than expected for A&M-Arkansas games because people were waiting in lines at the gates to claim their spot. We're going to pull up to the curb at 8 am and set up our tailgate in Lot 11 and wait for them to let us in while tossing some cold ones back.

Are there rules against glass bottles in the tailgating lots? and are you aloud to bring a DSLR into the stadium to take pics?
