Scenario: Keeper league, 24 teams, baseball simulation program that takes just about everything into account: base running, defense and so forth...

I have Stanton, guy offers Bruce and another prospect.

Seems like almost a wash to me...both are awesome defenders and have cannon arms. Both hit a shite load of HRs and both are probably .260-.270 hitters.

Leaning towards keeping Stanton...

Neither have reached their full potential.

which believe it or not, could be big. Allen could get playing time this year and is a big HR candidate. I dont have a full 1B yet either.

Edited to add, theres a possibility he might not include allen. we had talked before and allen was included, but he may have changed his mind.

If it's Bruce AND Allen for Stanton, I'd probably do it. Stanton is gonna be a monster though, imo.

I'm not so big on Fox though.

Fox has a lot of potential but just hasn't seemed to break out. Reminds me of Alex Gordon in that we never might see what he's capable of

I don't think Fox is still a prospect

Do you get points for hitting HR's to clinch division titles

Small pieces in comparison. I already have Carlos Santana and Saltalamacchia as well.

It's a 24 team league, so catcher at bats are at a premium.

In the end, its just one more potential guy i could get to trade for pitching later.

At the end of this draft, my main players will be:

C Carlos Santana
1B _____no major players
2B Aaron Hill, Eric Young Jr.
3B Mark Reynolds
SS _____ no major players, backups: Jack Wilson, John Mcdonald, Aaron Miles
LF Jason Heyward
CF Will Venable, McLouth, Wise
RF Stanton
DH Encarnacion, Wily Aybar

With my first 3 draft picks, i know who im getting, Heyward, Stanton and Santana....with the other pick (7th overall), I'll have a choice of Strasburg, D brown, Logan Morrison, Smoak, Starlin Castro and Austin Jackson

The best hitter is probably morrison, but I need a SS...I just hate using that pick to grab a guy who might not ever hit 13 HR (castro). I'll either go with Morrison or Strasburg probably.

Either way, my future is looking bright!

Just so you know...This is a baseball simulation league, corner OF can play either position. Corner OF can NOT play CF. If my OF is Heyward and Stanton, I dont think I need to improve on my OF

however, if hes the best player available, i can take him as a dh and then trade him once he proves himself
