I laugh any time Gregg Doyle's name comes up. He is the most obvious of the modern breed of troll-clown writer. He doesn't even try to hide it.

The funny thing is if Miles and his staff did not sign such talented and academically qualified classes, he wouldn't have this problem. Past LSU coaches like Gerry DiNardo and Mike Archer would have loved to have such problems. Believe me, they never had too many smart kids.

that's 2 pro-Miles articles in a row from Guilbeau. Les musta got him something really nice for Christmas.

Gerry DiNardo
What a hypocrite. Guy begged for one more year (no problem with that, anyone else would have too) but has made a point while HC at Indiana and commentator for the Big 10 network about the SEC's 'relaxed policies' regarding academics and how much better the Big 10 is than SEC,blah, blah.
Yet while at LSU if a potential recruit had a 2.0, 18 on his ACT ,whatever the barebones NCAA minimum was DiNardo was all over the guy.
Screw him.

Give the devil his due. Props to GG for an inciteful article.

I feel for the Porter kid...that was kinda a BS move...
the Garret kid...good riddance....from LSU to Northwestern where he couldn't be the starter...

No coach wants to cut a player. NO COACH. But it happens. There are millions of middle schools, but only about 100,000 high school. Then there are only about 200 colleges. Then there are only 32 NFL teams. Along the way, somebody is going to get hurt. It's just business. That's all it is.
P.S. I may have some of the above numbers wrong but you get the point.

Porter fits in the OTL story, he was a greyshirt oversigning casualty. Garrett just sucked...it had nothing to do with oversigning.

Gerry is extremely bitter about his ending here. I've heard stories of him refusing to watch the 2003 NC game because he believed it should have been him there.

And this is partly why the espn story was so bogus, what prevented them from bringing in a local reporter to get some of the LSU facts? Why not talk to Eliot porter today who now wants back to LSU ? What filth.

Why is GG sucking up to Miles??? This is 2 positive articles in a row.

Chris Garret ate himself out of this program...
He was a 6'3 220 pound high school QB prospect, who put on 30 pounds of flab, not muscle, and now he's a straight up butterball... Funny how espn conveniently left that part out...
Even Jamarcus Russell was able to stay in shape while here at LSU.... So if this kid got fat as heck and cut from the team I really don't feel sorry for him....
Porter, on the other hand, had a tough deal, and I feel for him, but its still not Mile's fault, it was Porter or another guy, and Porter got the ax... If we kept Porter we would have had to greyshirt another kid...
