I saw someone the other night on my friends list (360) that was playing and I forgot who it was. Anyway, this game is actually pretty addictive. It's not perfect, but the missions are long and require thought. You can use vehicles and the bonus missions (I had to read the IGN guide to realize how deep the missions can be) added depth and replayability for me as I hadn't gotten to them the first go-round.

I'm up for some co-op campaign if anyone can break away from Black Ops. (I still <3 Black Ops, I just like to mix it up sometimes.)

You ever played Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway? That was more strategy and placement of your squad. That was fun too.

I did play that one, Pevy. I liked it, but it was more flawed than Dragon Rising.

The ending is open ended for Hell's Highway, but no word on if there is a sequel. I always thought there would be.

I looked for some information on a new BIA game in development the other day and all I could come up with was that a BIA game was being made for the iPhone. I couldn't find anything about a game being developed for consoles or pc, which is a big disappointment because I loved Hell's Highway.

Damn, a lot of love for Hell's Highway. I might find it on the cheap and install it to my hard drive. Maybe it'll peform a little better.

ETA: In other news, OpFlash has a sequel coming out called Red River. The development team is aiming to make it more colorful and more accessible (with things like sticky aim and an easier command radial). I'm a fan of Dragon Rising.

i was playing OpFlash a couple of days ago. i realized i hadnt actually beaten it the first time so i wanted to finish it up. i like it a lot but i just dont like how complicated it can be to get your squad to do some very simple things.

I saw that on the new Red River one you are going to be able to customize your load out which i will like. hopefully they will clean up some of the squad commands to make that more fluid. just those 2 improvements would make that game one of my favorites

Yeah, it was you that I saw. I know what you mean. It's an act of Congress to throw a grenade or tell your fire team to hold their fire so the patrolling choppers don't blast you back to China.

yea throwing grenades has never gone well for me in this game. i tried throwing one through a window right in front of me b/c i knew there was a guy hiding in there. it bounces off the wall above the window and kills my whole squad because they didnt run as fast as me. but it shouldnt be that hard to equip the grenade and once you do, its impossible to tell exactly where its going.

For real. The other day I tried shooting a CLA dude through a window and I wasn't getting hits. Lame.

But one thing that is cool is that your fire team will get kills and the artillery strikes are kind of impressive. I'm down for some coop if you ever get it going.

I replayed the very first mission in the game last night after reading through the IGN guide. It took me over two hours to finish it including all the secondary objectives of knocking out the SAM sites. I almost got the bonus objective of flying the chopper around Skirinka Island, but I crashed it into the sea. Flying those things is pretty difficult. I feel like I need to join the Air Force and put in time before I get in a chopper on this game again.

I know a two-hour opening mission doesn't sound sexy to some. To be fair, I did die several times and had to reload a checkpoint. I also didn't really know what I was doing or what resistence I would meet, so I took it kind of slow. To be honest, it probably would take only an hour or less for a more experienced player. But that's definitely a lot of replayability.

Thankfully I got the Skirmish Pack that lets me play around on the island. Maybe I can get my pilot's license. Replaying Dragon Rising is really getting me psyched for Red River.
