Available on Netflix Instant, what's the Board's opinion of this movie?

I have it on my instant, actually watched it last night but was working on stuff for work so never got into it. I know opening scene dudes pops another ones head open with a rock. Was like holy shite....
I will be watching it all the way through tonight

I'm gonna try to get my wife to watch it with me, but the opening scene might throw her off . Looks like a good movie from what I've gathered from reviews on the Internet.

Had a thread about this several months back. One of the best movies I've seen recently. Absolutely amazing and hypnotic. Don't expect a plot but do expect great, haunting images and an overall cerebral film. Just a brilliant film.

What Pariah said. Different kind of film. Great visually. Haunting.

Really looking forward to this one. After The Pusher Trilogy, Bronson, and now this, Refn is rising quickly up the directors to watch list.

I just got this in the mail. I'm pretty sure I was the first person to rent this, yet the disc was unplayable when I put it in the DVD.

The Pusher Trilogy, Bronson
I couldn't stand the first Pusher, just wanted it to end. I actually didn't really like Bronson either, just loved the performance by Hardy.

Is incredible.
I bought the trilogy after only seeing the 1st. Bronson was good too and I still haven't seen Valhalla Rising; but Pusher was awesome.

This is how I felt about Bronson. Hardy was brilliant, but that movie was painfully boring.

I didn't love the Pusher films either, but thought they were pretty good. Hardy was definitely the best part of Bronson, but I really loved it. Couldn't tell you what the point was, but can tell you that I loved the ride.

I'm shocked we don't agree on a movie.

Bronson was pure character study. It relied solely on Hardy's performance and he pulled it off. Though I still think Valhalla is Refn's best films, Bronson is a close second.

What movie? There was just a guy killing people while tied to a lamppost, and then I turned it off b/c I would rather have been doing laundry.

It isn't for everyone, as is the case for most truly great works of art

True. Much the same as I don't like to wander around bad art galleries for hours, I don't enjoy watching what I consider boring art on my tv for 2 hours.
Granted, it may have gotten better after he got on the boat, but I just didn't see the point.
To each his own, though. It was a good-looking movie from what I saw, I'll give it that.

I though it was pretty solid. I like movies that are "different". 3.5 out of 5
