Not possible. He's going to be the HC at LSU next year.

Why would Gruden go to a college and coach? The man is already groomed for the NFL, which is where people go to become coaching legends. Look - I love College Football just as much as the next guy, but people want to be Lombardi more than JoePa or Bowden. Gruden would be regressing with coaching Miami unless you're talking about the Dolphins.

Sure they want him but it aint happening. Bank on it. Gruden isnt coaching anywhere anytime soon and when and if he does, it wont be college.

He has no patience for college players or teaching them. He has said this over and over.

Besides, he makes more money now than any college can pay him.

According to the source, Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen likely would be the Hurricanes' next choice if an agreement isn't reached.

But wait.... Mr SEC said Gruden was choice B behind Mullen.

Like I said before, total bullshite.

Gruden still lives here in Tampa. (So does Dungy)

Gruden stated more than a few times he'll never coach college ball again but he can be pretty slippery sometimes. He's still getting a $96,150 weekly paycheck from the Tampa Bay Bucs through next year (albeit his agent gets a sizable cut of that). Add to that his multi-million dollar ESPN gig that was just extended. That leads one to question why he'd give up a low-stress, four day work week (with travel to and from work in a Gulfstream jet and life in 5-star resort hotels) to take a $3 mil a year super-high stress job at a second-rate ACC program in Miami?

If he goes to the U, I won't be the only one around here who's surprised.

No way.

Leach would get the gig before Gruden would take it. I cant believe they would actually want Mullen over Leach.

given Leach's history, and Miami's, Leach is a terrible fit at Miami, IMO.

Not a Flame, but why would Gruden want to coach at LSU? Yall'd want him fired after his first 10-2 season.

Just heard a guy from Canesports say that he believes Gruden is about 80% to the U, they are simply working out details at this point. Leavitt is the likely DC and Gruden's brother, Jay, who is a coach in the UFL right now, is the likely OC. If this is true, the U is back in a big way.

well, since Miami is meeting with Gruden today, and since Leach has been ruled out as a candidate, it looks like you have no idea what you're talking about.

Its amazing how people can talk out of their arse during events like a coaching search.

I still think its a long shot but even if he doesnt take it. The fact that he allowed the smoke to continue this long tells me that one day he could actually coach college ball.

I have been a Gruden fan from his days in Oakland and he just likes the attention.

He wont be the next HC at Miami.
