Looking for some feedback on some scopes. I was, told to go with the nightforce, but was looking at some other options. Some one suggested Valdada Optics or Nc Star but i have never heard of these. Any suggestions. TIA

Nikon Buckmaster is great bang for the buck (pun intended)

I've got a Leupold Vari X III 3.5X10X50. Pretty solid scope. On my Thompson Pro-Hunter .270

As a general rule of thumb you should spend as much or more on the scope as the rifle. What makes one scope better than another is clarity and consistent clicks. The best brand is Night Force or Schmidt and Bender. As mentioned earlier Nikon Buckmaster and Monarch are a good bang for the buck scope with consistent clicks and good clarity. A lot of people look at buying a rifle as the rifle being the most important and most expensive part of the package, when the scope really is. What good is the rifle when you can't see the target.

Valdada or IOR scopes are pretty high dollar and will stand up to the recoil of a 50bmg, but I seem to remember some reviews about NC Stars not holding zero or having the reticle shift after a few rounds on a 50(don't hold me to that).
A lot of people swear by Super Sniper scopes on 50's, not sure what you consider long range but they come in 10x,16x, or 20x fixed powers for like $300 and are will hold together on the BMG. They would defiantly make a great starter scope for your rifle
